Honor Magic V2

Image
Honor Magic V2 unboxing IVAN, 26 JANUARY 2024 It took its sweet sweet time, but Honor's almost impossibly slim  Magic V2  is finally available outside of China. Europeans can, as of today, order on the phone. You get a nice retail box with the Magic V2. All the accessories are shipped in independent little boxes inside the phone's bigger box. Packaged with the Honor Magic V2 is a 66W charger, a USB cable, a case for the phone's rear panel, and a SIM eject tool. The case has a handy, sturdy kickstand too.   A nice set of accessories The most impressive bit about the Honor Magic V2 remains its weight and size, though. This is a 231g phone - about the same as a Galaxy S24 Ultra - despite the massive 7.92-inch inner screen. The foldable body remains as impressive now as it was 6 months ago when we first saw it. Inside is a 120Hz-capable LTPO AMOLED panel unit with a 2156x2344px resolution. On the outside, sits a 6.43-inch 1060x2376px LTPO 120Hz OLED.   Two quality...

First Google Pixel 9 Pro

Image
First Google Pixel 9 Pro renders reveal a smaller display, new camera island YORDAN, 24 JANUARY 2024 Google released the  Pixel 8  and  Pixel 8 Pro  in  October  2023, and now is looking ahead towards the Pixel 9 lineup. According to the first surfaced CAD-based renders, the Pixel 9 Pro will have a smaller screen, flat panels and sides, and a camera bump that no longer spans from one end to the other.   Google Pixel 9 Pro renders The leaksters revealed the screen will be a 6.5” panel, compared with the 6.7” OLED on the predecessor. However, the entire body will be basically the same size, meaning the bezels will be slightly thicker.   Google Pixel 9 Pro renders Google relied on a wide camera island in the past three generations of Pixel flagships. The shooters are once again pictured horizontally but within an oval island. While the device will be 8.5 mm thin in its base, the bump will  add almost 50%, measuring 12 mm at its most promi...

Google Pixel 9 leaks

Image
Google Pixel 9 leaks in renders showing three rear cameras, flat sides VLAD, 24 JANUARY 2024 Mere hours ago some CAD-based renders of the upcoming  Google Pixel 9 Pro  were outed, and now it's time for its smaller and more affordable sibling to get the exact same treatment. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Google Pixel 9. Right off the bat, one thing clearly stands out. Unlike the  Pixel 8 , the Pixel 9 has three cameras on the rear, one of which obviously has a periscope zoom lens. This is a huge update for the 'vanilla' Pixel line, and one that brings it much more in tune with the Pro, spec-wise. Moving on, the other obvious thing is that Google has also been infested by the 'flat sides' disease started by Apple a while ago. Gone is the curved frame of the Pixel 8, in is the iPhone-like flatness. We don't especially mind if a frame is flat or not, but we do feel the need to point out that every company doing the same thing is just... boring and repetitive? Any...

Meizu 21 Pro incoming

Image
Meizu 21 Pro incoming next month with a triple 50 MP camera The  Meizu 21  arrived in late 2023, but we never saw a Pro variant on stage. Reports from China suggested the Meizu 21 Pro will arrive in February and revealed some key features of the new phone. The company, owned by  automaker Geely , will bring a device with revamped cameras, 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage. Meizu 21 The source claimed the main camera will have a 50 MP sensor. There will also be a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, and there should also be a telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and periscope lens. For comparison, the regular Meizu 21 is sold with a 200 MP main cam + 13 MP ultra-wide + 5 MP sensor in-between the RGB light. The 16 GB + 1 TB memory combination is also an improvement over the vanilla version, which launched with no more than 12 GB RAM and 512 GB of storage. Nokia and oppo's aggrement

Nokia and Oppo sign cross-license 5G patent agreement Nokia and Oppo have signed a multi-year patent cross-license agreement covering 5G standard essential patents. This latest development follows a lengthy patent infringement lawsuit between the two companies dating back to  2021 . The process involved several legal battles across  Europe, Asia  and  Australia  and saw Oppo and OnePlus phones and smartwatches  stopped  from sale in Germany. " We are delighted to have reached a cross-license agreement with Oppo that reflects the mutual respect for each other's intellectual property and Nokia's investments in R&D and contributions to open standards. Oppo is one of the leading companies in the global smartphone market and we look forward to working together to bring further innovation to their users around the world. Honor magic v2

Honor Magic V2 to finally launch in Europe on January 26 Honor introduced the  Magic V2  smartphone back in  July 2023  at an event in China. The company promised a European unveiling later in the and  demoed the device at IFA Berlin  without any details about pricing and availability. Over four months after the European unveiling where  we had some hands-on experience , the wait is finally over. Honor scheduled a launch event for January 26 at 2 PM CET, where the Magic V2 will be properly announced with a price tag and availability timeline. The Magic V2 was the slimmest foldable at launch, and it still is, over six months after being announced (if we don’t count the V Purse with a different form factor and limited availability). It also has a slightly smaller footprint than the  Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max  or  Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra  when folded, which means it's no harder to put in a pocket than a conventional flagship. The fact t...

Xiaomi latest techs

Xiaomi tipped to launch Pad 7 in February with top-tier chipsets Xiaomi brought the  Pad 6 Pro to China  in April 2023; now it is time for the Pad 7 lineup. According to  Digital Chat Station , the new flagship tablet will be launched next month, and it will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The leakster suggested there is a Pad 7 incoming with last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, while the Pro should have the current top-tier SoC by Qualcomm. This would be a massive improvement over the previous Pad 6 lineup, where the Pro and the Max had a one-year-old chip, while the vanilla version we reviewed last summer had a dated Snapdragon 870. The Pad 7 could arrive with 100W fast charging, and the Pad 7 Pro might have an OLED panel, which would be a first for a Xiaomi tablet - all slates have been launched with an LCD. All these features sound great, but it would be even greater if the company actually decided to bring the Pro outside China, as all top-tier tablets have been...
